20-25,000 tickets booked in 1 hour, yet photos of people are coming on the internet in which they are looking for crowd in the theatre, their shows are getting cancelled. Raid 2 has really raided the minds of the people because the public is confused whom to trust, but the important question is whether the film is trustworthy or not.
Ajay Devgn and Family Cinema Formula
Ajay Devgan and family cinema, more cunning films than this cannot be made in Bollywood. They always make remakes which are more dangerous than the original, they make money by force and once again they are after money. They have come with the sequel of their 7-year-old film, but does just adding 2 to the name make a film twice as good as the old one? The simple answer is no.
Predictability Ruins the Experience
No, we need proof, so listen further—will you spend Rs 400-500 on a ticket for a film in which before every next scene you know what is going to happen in that scene? It is going to happen when you and I can think of this, then think that the people who make such big films would not have thought of this. Still, the film was made because according to them the public is stupid. They will call it a sequel and loot the money. Simple.
Ritesh Deshmukh’s New Character is the Real Hook
Look, Ajay Devgan may be the face of Raid 2, but the film has been sold in reality with the help of Ritesh Deshmukh’s new character. You will get the biggest shock in the film only when you come to know in the first scene that this time the fight is again between good and evil, but it is not at all like you are thinking.
Twisted Morality and Role Reversal
Dada Bhai is God for the people. Let alone finding evil in him, even thinking about it is considered a sin. He has not looted money from the poor; he has returned it to them. And the amazing thing is that the real heroes of the 2018 film, whose raids became famous all over the world, are now becoming infamous. Big allegations of taking bribe have been made against them, and more shocking is that he himself confessed his crime in front of everyone.
Honest Turns Dishonest, Villain Turns Savior
So it means that in the film, the person whom you thought was honest turned out to be a number one thief and the one whom we expected to raid for theft turned out to be the village’s caretaker. This is the real math of Raid 2. What appears to be will not be as it is, and what appears to be will not be as it is. Two hours will be spent on this and then the climax will be seen.
Big Name, Small Delivery
The story sounds good and it is shown in a good way—both are very different things. And that is why the name of Raid 2 is big, but in terms of work, this film remains very small. There is as much difference in the quality of both Part One and Part Two as there is between Tamanna’s song in Stree 2 and the ridiculous item song of this film.
No Suspense, No Surprise
Tamanna has betrayed even more than this film. Neither is there any suspense in this film nor will there be any hidden surprise to make the story interesting till the end. Whatever will be in front of the eyes, the director has not put in even a little effort. The officer goes to hide the treasure very comfortably, but the treasure comes out on its own.
A Better Alternative: Thudaaram
If you really want to know how to create a good suspense, then a Malayalam film named Thudaaram has come in which the same actors are there whose Drishyam was remade by Ajay Devgan and everyone was stunned. If you get a chance and feel like watching a good movie, then book a ticket for that movie. I promise you will not be able to forget it till the end of 2025.
From Smart to Silly
The Red one was successful because that movie was written for a smart audience. In this second part, keeping the brain aside, the movie has been made only to earn money.
Family Friendly but Creatively Weak
One advantage this movie has is that it is a very simple and easy family cinema. Anyone of any age can watch it and understand it. That is why a lot of money will come. The box office will shine, but the respect that the movie Red had built up has been completely ruined by this movie, honestly.
Unnecessary Sequel Ruins the Legacy
The sequel of 2017 should never have been made. It was a perfect movie in itself. Because of that, there was so much pressure to make Ajay Devgn’s character look big that the rest of the characters of the film had to be forced to look small.
Underused Characters and Weak Writing
And when Ritesh Deshmukh is in front of Ajay Devgn in the film, even then both of them will only talk to each other through their mouths and will not use their brains even a little bit. Then how will the scenes of the film look good?
Wasted Potential
The film could have become very big from the beginning by showing Ritesh’s character, but gradually he was sidelined from the film and the entire focus was shifted to Ajay Devgn. And this is the weakness of the film because the lead character is not doing anything.
Confused Storyline and Broken Logic
The word Red is shown in such a casual way that no one could understand when the word Red ended. Forget logic, common sense, there is not even a basic idea that the film starts from anywhere and suddenly ends in the middle.
Missed Opportunities
I was just waiting for this guy to get up from his chair and the officer—a leader—will show his power, will break the pride of the film. What all can’t a villain do, but the film makers did not use them.
Wasted Talent: Supriya Pathak
Hey, behind them is Supriya Pathak who had shaken up Ramleela on her own, she was also wasted. This is the right word. The opportunity to make the sequel of a good film even better has been wasted. The public has been cheated.
One-Line Review
One line review: This is it. You will get one and a half stars out of five.
Strong Start, Weak Execution
First of all, the character of Dada Bhai which was shown in the beginning raised hopes but later fell asleep.
Supporting Actors Shine
The rest half are supporting actors, especially Amit Sial and Saurabh Shukla. These people do a great job. Every scene of theirs will be fun.
Suspense and Logic Missing
Suspense in negatives. Selling the film by calling it thriller and then making the suspense disappear. Second, not getting good actors to do good work.
Predictable and Cold Storytelling
Third, taking the story forward in a very dull, cold and predictable way and wasting the rest of the connection of Ajay Devgan and family audience.
Final Verdict
Raid 2 has really raided but on the pockets of the public. Even after this, if you want to get ruined, then go to the theatre. You will not get anything different or new. The decision is yours. Take care, bye-bye.
